3-in-One’s lubricants are ideal for preventing friction around hinges, nuts and bolts, wheels and other moving parts, both in your vehicle and in your workshop. The highly regarded product line comprises multi-purpose oil spray and multi-purpose drip oil, both of which use an anti-drip spout to avoid spillages during application. 3-in-One also produces a vast range of dry lubricants, high-performance lubricants, anti-seize copper greases and white lithium grease.

3-in-One Timeline

3-in-One… 

1894: was launched by George W. Cole, New Jersey, who compounded a mixture to lubricate and remove rust from his bicycle. His original solution kickstarted the process of forming the famous 3-in-One application that accomplishes lubrication, rust penetration and cleaning within a single application.

1899: was incorporated under the laws of New Jersey.

1905-1910: rebranded its company name from G.W. Cole to 3-in-One Oil Company and started selling the lubricants in green glass bottles with cork stoppers.

1933: was acquired by Drug Inc and then became part of Sterling Products Inc.

1936: was purchased by A.S. Boyle, a subsidiary of American Home Products Corporation, who sold the lubricants in tin cans.

1990: was acquired by Reckitt & Coleman Plc company, along with A.S. Boyle’s Midway household products division of American Home Products.

1994: celebrated its hundredth anniversary with a new packaging design that showcased a black banner reading ‘100 Years - Hundreds of Uses’.

1995: was acquired by WD-40.

2002: launched a new aerosol format with PTFE, designed for cables, gear mechanisms and chains.

2003: introduced the 3-in-One professional range, which includes high-performance lubricants that meet the toughest of demands for both mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts.

2004: expanded the 3-in-One professional range with new high-performance formulas.

2012: launched a contemporary new design for packaging that retains the brand’s historic value.
