Established in 1919, Holts boasts a century’s worth of experience in the car aftercare market. The multi-award-winning manufacturer has developed more than 15,000 cutting-edge formulations, manufactured enough screenwash to fill 300 olympic-sized swimming pools and topped up 380-million automotive tanks with fuel additives. 

Holts offers an international reputation for enabling professionals and DIY car lovers to ensure the utmost protection for their vehicles and encompasses three other brands: Prestone, Redex and Simoniz. Its best-selling products include Holts Tyreweld, Simoniz Original wax, Redex Diesel System Cleaner and Prestone Screen Wash.

1919: was established by Douglas Holt, who set up a small shop selling car parts based on his experience working for Austin Motor Company before World War I.

1936: released Wondarweld to seal leaks from cracked cylinder heads, often caused by lack of antifreeze. Holts still sells Wondarweld today.

1945: launched Gun Gum to repair car exhausts. Holts still sells Gun Gum today.

1950s: manufactured an array of new products to expand the firm, which were taken up by various distributors, including Halfords.

1964: acquired Romac Ind Ltd, which manufactured tyre repair and motor repair equipment. Together, Holts and Romac Ind manufactured the successful safety belt buckle and Tyreweld, a puncture repair kit that Holts still sells today.

1990: launched Bradex Easy Start, which is still available today.

2018: released the Headlight Restoration Kit.

2019: became the official repair and maintenance partner for Wigan Warriors.
