1938: was established by Adolf Mann and Dr Erich Hummel, who owned a textile firm in Ludwigsburg, Germany. During World War II, Mahle asked Mann + Hummel to manufacture engine filters.
1942: dedicated efforts to research and development, developing innovations in filter technology.
1949: manufactured felt cone filters for the first VW Beetle.
1950: began the company’s transition towards industrial mass production.
1995: stepped up environmentally conscious production procedures.
2000: expanded into the global filtration market, establishing subsidiaries in Europe, America and Asia.
2016: built the inaugural Technology Centre in Ludwigsburg to support the continuation of product development.
