The Evolution of Bosch Spark Plugs

In 1902, Bosch were granted the patent for a high-voltage magneto to manufacture spark plugs in Germany. As a result, Bosch produced the breakthrough spark plugs that still guarantee reliable combustion to this day.

Over the next 111 years, Bosch expanded their product range to include high-performance, economical and environmentally conscious spark plugs, not just for vehicles, but for jet skis, garden equipment, water pumps and emergency generators too.

Now working closely with global engine manufacturers, Bosch produce spark plugs with 26 different electrode layouts. They have expanded their production facilities from their Bamberg plant in Germany and now also manufacture in Brazil, China, India and Russia, distributing their car parts worldwide. With 410,000 global associates, Bosch now operate across 60 countries and 130 engineering locations.
