Little Trees first produced car air fresheners when a milk truck driver complained about the smell of spilled milk in 1952. To overcome the problem, Julius Sämaan used blotter material to absorb fragrances and create the first air fresheners for vehicles. Julius invented the first air freshener in the iconic evergreen tree shape, inspired by his career extracting aromatic oils in Canadian pine forests. 70 years later, these air fresheners are still amongst the most popular on a global scale.
Over recent years, Little Trees has expanded its range from the original Royal Pine, Bouquet and Spice fragrances to include Black Ice, Caribbean Colada and New Car scents. The company has also expanded its product range to offer the Fresh Link, Fiber Can and Vent Wrap air-freshening solutions. Today, Little Trees manufactures its vast supply of car air fresheners in both New York and Iowa.
