As with all types of filters, the use of the correct filtration media is crucial in a fuel filter, particularly as now some service intervals are in excess of 100,000 miles and in modern common-rail diesel engines where any water emulsified in the fuel can cause extensive damage to the fuel injection system. These systems sometimes pressurise the fuel up to 3,000 bar (44,000 psi) by forcing it through very small injector nozzles, which could easily be clogged or even damaged by any contaminants in the system. As with all Borg & Beck filters you can be confident that they all meet the quality specification set by OE in accordance with the EU motor vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (BER) 461 / 2010.
