NGK NTK EPBMWT5-A004H / 91200 5 pins - Angled MAF Sensor Mass Air Flow Meter

Although their operating principle differs, MAF and MAP sensors send important information to the vehicle ECU. This information, together with information from other vehicle sensors, allows the fine control of the fuelling system.

  • Vehicles fitted with fuel injection must have some method of determining the quantity of air entering the engine
  • Once established, a calculation is made to inject a sufficient quantity of fuel to provide a correct mixture
  • This results in efficient use of fuel, good performance and reduces emissions
  • MAF sensors are fitted:

  • Between the air filter and intake manifold/throttle housing
  • Most are supplied complete with their housing
  • Some are just the element as they fit into the vehicles air inlet/filter housing
  • They are sometimes referred to as ‘air mass meters’.
